Tricentennial Posters for the City of Albuquerque

I was hired by the advertising firm of Rick Johnson & Company to illustrate a series of posters for the City of Albuquerque to celebrate the city's 300th anniversary. We went with a World's Fair theme, and the posters needed to show that larger-than-life Art Deco feel.
Originally I was only hired to put together comp illustrations to show the client; they were going to hire another illustrator out of Canada. But I campaigned hard and did very tight sketches and convinced them that I could do this project!
The posters were sold as a limited-edition print, and copies went up in the airport, and on t-shirts and playing cards.
